Christian Leadership Meeting
Theme: Forging New (Christian) Leadership Pathways
Overview:
Overall, it is believed that leadership has been challenged in most institutions, including the church in Zimbabwe. Men and women of God have been found in compromising positions given the economic and political challenges and uncertainties in the country. Though Zimbabwe has seen a growth in the number of churches all over the country, corruption and a lack of integrity has increased in the country.
The church has a significant role to reinstate the integrity, ethics, and morals in Zimbabwe. The church needs to go back to the Christian basics of leadership. This kind of change starts with church leadership, who will then encourage the congregation to change. And because everything in connected, a positive change in the Church will have a positive impact in homes, places of work, schools, government, etc.
Another consideration to make is that church leaders are not immune to the economic hardships. Whatever economic and political hardships the congregants are facing, the church leaders are facing as well. Many believers and some Christian leaders have lost hope and drive. Consequently, it becomes difficult to lead and continuously encourage in an environment like Zimbabwe.
However, as believers, we cannot give up and live according to what we see in the physical world. There is a huge responsibility on the Christian leaders to lead the charge and stay focused on Jesus albeit the conditions. Christian leaders need to find winning ways to stay committed and encouraged to preach the true word of God without compromise and discouragement. They have the responsibility to bring hope and healing to a broken people. The rebuilding of Zimbabwe cannot be achieved outside the rebuilding of the church.
This event is targeted at pastors, deacons, elders, or anyone in some capacity of church leadership. It is also open to other people that want to grow their leadership skills in a biblical way. The church leadership has the responsibility to demonstrate what true servant leadership is and how to lead ethically and with integrity. They must show that all cannot be attained without Christ.

Verses:
Luke 14:26 to 28 – If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple. Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it?
Romans 12: 1 to 2 – Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
James 1:12 – Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because having stood the test, the person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
2 Timothy 2: 15 – Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
1 Timothy 3: 2 – Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
